Peter E. Donelan, 74, of Carteret, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 at home. Peter served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. For most of his life he worked in restaurant management, including Gino’s and KFC, he also owned/operated Popeye’s Chicken. He was currently working as a truck driver for Keefe Supply in Edison. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Margaret Donelan; brothers, Thomas and John; and sister, Theresa. He is survived by Sandra Donelan, their children and their spouses, Peter and his wife Lori, Maria Rotella and her husband Domenick, and David and his wife Debbie; brothers, Edward and Jim; sisters, Margaret and Mary; along with his grandchildren, Tristan, Dale, Kendall, Ryan, Gianna, Chloe, and Nicky. Peter was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back, even if it was the only one that he had. He also doted on his grandchildren, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services are private under the direction of Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison.
