Through the years, I sometimes think back to my early grammar school days. Of the few kids I always think fondly of, who always stands out? Jackie. Jackie Miranda. We called him Jackie when we were kids. That I still remember his name and still can see him so clearly, I think, speaks remarkably of the kind of kid he was. I still see him in his white shirt - complete with his sharp red criss-cross tie - contrasting perfectly with his dark complexion and full head of black hair.
Jackie was joyful, playful, and had lots of energy. Jackie loved chasing girls and stealing a kiss back then. I am so happy to learn that he channeled that love and energy into chasing baseballs later in his life.
When Jackie smiled, his was more than a mere facial expression. You could feel his happiness explode from inside him. His entire self - body and face - would animate with happiness. You would just know the joy he was experiencing.
Jackie was in my life but for a brief moment and I feel so blessed to have shared that moment.
Dear Debbie, Vicki and Joey - I send to you my love and condolences.

Jack: I will miss you immensely. We had some great times as Team mates in the Edison Rec League. You always were a team Player and a great guy. May god rest your soul in heaven. Your suffering is over and god will always protect and look over you. May god give you peace and serenity. I am very sad to not see you my friend, but i know that you will always be in my thoughts for eternity.

Dear Debora, Joseph and Victoria
I was a classmate of Jack at Good Shepherd School . We were in many of the same classes together . I have very vivid memories of Jack.He was a handsome young man who was blessed with movie star good looks. He also was a very kind person who never had a bad word for any of his fellow classmates.
He was also blessed with a beautiful singing voice and I remember him singing many times during our Friday music classes
Jack and I also played on the same baseball team for many years . He was an excellent athlete and his speed was legendary. I can remember many a time when he stole a base or stretched a single into a double. After we both Graduated from Good Shepherd in 1968 we lost contact because we went to different High Schools.
However several years ago we were able to reconnect through Facebook. The past few years we talked many times of growing up in Brooklyn. In many ways we relived the days of our youth whether it was playing baseball, football or some other sport.
I remember after Jack was dealing with his illness how positive and optimistic he was . When I enquired about how he was doing, I was always amazed with his attitude and strength .This past Wednesday I sent him a private message to see how he was doing. On Friday I saw the post that Jack had passed away. I was deeply saddened to hear this and it bought tears to my eyes.
My deepest sympathies to the Miranda Family . He was a beautiful soul and I will miss talking to him. May the beautiful memories you have of Jack bring you all a measure of peace and comfort now and always.
Rest In Peace my old friend I will never forget you
