Obituary of Joseph P. Rappleyea Jr.

Joseph Patrick Rappleyea Jr. (JP), 48, of Perth Amboy passed away Friday, July 26,2019 at home. JP was born in Point Pleasant Hospital, NJ, on November 7,1970.

JP lived in Toms River before moving and growing up and attending schools in Edison NJ, and was predeceased by his parents Anne Marie (Hughes) and Joseph P, Rappleyea Sr. He is survived by his brother Peter Edward Rappleyea of Perth Amboy and many loving cousins, nieces, family members and friends.

JP graduated from Edison High School, where he was a member of the varsity football team Eagles, and with honors from Lord Fairfax Community College in Virginia, where he pursued his musical talents and interests. He was chosen for the NJ All-State Orchestra for his skill on the bass while in high school.

JP worked in various retail companies as a manager, notably OfficeMax, and was a member of the Edison Elks club. He was a long-time fan of the Washington Redskins NFL team and NASCAR racing.

In addition to his brother Peter, JP is survived by his cousins Chris and Meghan Myers of Florida, Joe Kerrigan, Lauren and Peter Hughes, and beloved nieces Elizabeth and Melissa Rappleyea.

A Memorial Service will be held  Saturday, August 3, from 3:00-5:00 pm at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison, NJ. Condolences may be sent to www.BoylanFH.com
