I was reminiscing about Prof. Lehne to a fellow Rutgers buddy of mine and was sad to come across this. I had Prof. Lehne for my Poli. Sci. seminar class in Spring 2005. It wasn’t an easy class to teach esp. as it was at 8am in the morning, but I commend Prof. Lehne for sharing his knowledge and expertise with all of us on a subject that he was deeply devoted to. I also read his book for one of my other courses and it expanded my horizons further, which I am grateful for. My continued prayers and condolences to the Lehne family/loved ones. I wish I got to connect with him more, but am grateful for the one semester I had him. Requiescat in Pace, Prof. Lehne.

I am very sad to learn of Professor Lehne's passing. I was a young student of his at RU and as a sophomore he encouraged me to challenge myself and take a graduate course under his guidance. He later invited me to help him conduct research for a new book over the summer. The university ended up messing up the payroll for weeks, and when I informed him of it he insisted paying me in cash the entire summer with the trust I would refund him once the checks cleared. Always professional, thorough, insightful, and sharp witted if you were on your toes enough to catch it, Professor Lehne was a fantastic professor and mentor. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

It was with sadness that I read of Professor Lehne's passing. He was one of my first Political Science professors. He was a great teacher and made what could be a dry subject interesting. My condolences to the Lehne family. Rest In Peace, Professor.
