Obituary of Jose Velez

Jose “Joe” Velez of Edison NJ, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 68 on Monday, September 10, 2018 surrounded by his family. A steamfitter with NYC Local 638 for over 40 years and avid Yankees fan, Joe also enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, music, spending time with his grandchildren, and trips to the Sands. Born in Puerto Rico, Joe was a resident of Edison NJ for more than 40 years. 

Joe is survived by his mother Marina Toro, wife Veronica, as well as his children Stacey Malinowski and her husband Keith, Christian Velez and his wife Susie, grandchildren Ava and Audrina Velez, and his brother Obed “Sal” Velez and his wife Sonia.

Memorial visitation will be Friday, September 14 at Boylan Funeral Home 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison NJ from 5pm to 9pm. A memorial mass will be held at Guardian Angels R.C. Church 37 Plainfield Avenue, Edison, NJ on Saturday, September 15 at 10am.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in remembrance of Joe to the American Cancer Society and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
