Robert L. Hawkins, 86, of Edison, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at JFK Haven Hospice, Edison. Born in Kingston, PA, he was a resident of Edison most of his life. Mr. Hawkins served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for 36 years at PSE&G before retiring. He was a member of the VFW Post 3117 in Edison and The Reformed Church of Highland Park. Surviving are his beloved wife of 64 years Helen Hawkins (née Heverly); his daughter Sharon Vargo and husband Chris of Carmel, Indiana, Robert Hawkins, Jr. and wife Fatima of Pace, Florida, and Glenn Hawkins and wife Andrea of Annandale; as well as 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Cremation was private.
