James Robert "Bobby" Veisz Sr., 80, of Edison, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in New Brunswick, he was a resident of Edison his entire life. Mr. Veisz was a Heavy Machine Operator for the Roads Department of Edison Township before retiring in 1998. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting, fishing, and crabbing. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and belonged to a hunting club in Pennsylvania for many years. He also loved trips to Atlantic City and Parx Casino in particular. He was a loving grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was predeceased by his sister Helen Fitzgerald "Bootsie". Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Beatrice Veisz (Strand) of Edison; his children James R. Veisz Jr. and his wife Wendy of Jamesburg, Michael Veisz, Robin Kovacs and her husband David of Edison, and Michele Buchko of Edison; his grandchildren Kevin, Brian, and Michael Veisz, Emily Kovacs, and Ryan and Joseph Buchko; his brothers Michael Jr. "Mickey", Joseph, and John "Jackie" Veisz; and his sisters Doris Campbell, and Mary "Susie" Smerecki. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Boylan Funeral Home 10 Wooding Ave., Edison. Funeral services will be held at 7 pm. Cremation will be private.
