Dominick P. Tagliareni, 93, of Avenel passed away on December 16, 2016 at home. Born in Jersey City, Dominick resided to Iselin for most of his life before moving to Avenel in 2013. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War 2 and received 2 Purple Hearts. Before his retirement in 1976, Dominick worked for the Jersey City Union as a construction worker. Dominick was predeceased by his wife, Wanda (Karwasinski); his parents; and his daughter, Paula DiStefano. Surviving are his sons; Donald and his wife Phyllis and James and his wife Janet; son in law Larry DiStefano; and his brother, Victor. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Laura, Brienne, Gianna, Michael, Steven; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 4-8AM at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday December 22, 2016, 9:30AM at St Matthew the Apostle Church, Edison. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia.
