Katherine Bacwyn, 91, peacefully passed away at her recent home in Columbus OH, Monday December 5, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was formerly a long time resident of Somerset NJ, born in Hostiw Ukraine, immigrated to the US in 1949. She has lived in Philadelphia, Chicago and the state of Florida where she was active in the UCCA Ukrainian Women's League. Katherine was predeceased by her husband, Walter Bacwyn in 1998; father, Mykhailo Standrytchuk and mother Mariya Hrehorczyn, brothers Omeljan, Anton, and Zenko Standrytchuk; and sisters, Hanya and Zosya. She is survived by her daughter, Vera Bacwyn-Holowinsky; grandson, Roman Holowinsky, and great-grandson, Mark Holowinsky. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday December 9, 2016 from 7-9PM at Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 9:30AM at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 80 Livingston Ave, New Brunswick, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Cemetery, 240 Main St, South Bound Brook, NJ.
