Obituary of Chester Pressler

Chester (Chet) Arthur Pressler, Jr. died peacefully at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, surrounded by his family on June 29th, 2016 in New Brunswick, NJ at the age of 81. Chet is survived by his siblings: Ann Marie and Elaine, four children: Cynthia Pressler Steenstra, Sherry Pressler Marbach, Chester Arthur Pressler III, and James Pressler; and ten grandchildren: Nicholas Steenstra, Lisa Steenstra, Megan Marbach, John Marbach, Melanie Marbach, Chester Arthur Pressler IV, Melissa Pressler, Alison Pressler, Daniel Pressler, and Natalie Pressler. He is preceded in death by two siblings: Richard and Barbara McAllister. Chet was born on June 25, 1935 in New Brunswick, NJ to Anne and Chester Pressler Sr. He graduated from St. Peter's High School in 1953. Chet served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged after two years. He was employed by Westinghouse and retired after 40 years of service. He was an active and dedicated member of St. Matthew's Parish from its founding. His family remembers him as a dedicated and loving father. They also have fond memories of good times at the Jersey Shore and family gatherings. A viewing is scheduled for 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm on Friday, July 1 at Boylan Funeral Home in Edison, New Jersey. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, July 2 at 9:30am at St. Matthew's in Edison, New Jersey, with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway, New Jersey.
