Obituary of Olga Dutka

Olga Dutka, 89, of Somerset, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016 at St. Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. She grew up and lived in South River prior to marrying her husband, Paul, and moving to Somerset 49 years ago, after his retirement from the U.S. Navy. Olga, a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, was a homemaker when her children were young, but also held several jobs prior to, and after raising her family. Olga had a strong work ethic, and worked in the garment industry for several years, Dow Jones, and Westinghouse, where she was promoted to supervisor. She was an avid reader who enjoyed murder-mysteries, and visited the library frequently. She loved to crochet and worked happily and tirelessly on her beautiful quilts! She loved picking blueberries! She walked almost every day for years, many times with her little dog, Sascha, who could always be found at her side. She was a dedicated caregiver, and a loyal friend, who could be trusted and counted on by all. She will be dearly missed. Olga is predeceased by her husband, Paul; mother, Mary and father, Michael; and brothers, John and Walter Suski. She is survived by a sister, Mary Roselli of South River; Daughters, Mary Mynes of Plainsboro and Patricia Salvatico of Somerset; Son Paul Dutka of Effort Pa; and eight grandchildren, Thomas and Rachel Mynes, Christen, Nicole and Diana Salvatico, Michael, Paul and Danielle Dutka. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9PM at Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue, New Brunswick. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 4, 10AM at SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, South River. Interment will be private.
