Louis A. Recifo, 79, of Somerset, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2015. Born in Manhattan, NY he moved to South Plainfield in 1951, and was a resident of Somerset most of his life. Mr. Recifo was employed with Morrison Steel, where he met the love of his life, and later retired from Muhlenburg Hospital. He enjoyed dancing and watching movies. He was a communicant at St. Matthias R.C. Church in Somerset. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Antoinette Recifo and grandson Zachariah Smith. Surviving are his wife of 44 years Arlene "Sue" Recifo of Somerset; his daughters Denise Recifo and her partner Marla Waithe of Rahway, and Jennifer Recifo-Smith and her husband Wayne Smith of Baldwin, WI; his grandchildren: Christopher, Henry, Kennedy, and William; brothers Charles and Frank Recifo of Neptune; sisters Elizabeth Cortazzo of Edison and Rose Viehman of Coco, FL. Also surviving are 5 nieces, 2 nephews, and his friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 20 at 10 am from Boylan Funeral Home 188 Easton Avenue in New Brunswick, followed by a 10:30 am Mass at St. Matthias R.C. Church in Somerset. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Middlebush. Visitation will be on Friday, February 19 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
