Obituary of Josephine Miragliotta

Josephine Miragliotta, resident of Edison, NJ passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016. Born in Dunlo, PA in 1921 to her parents Cosimo and Rose Cosimano. She moved to New Jersey in 1937, married and moved to Elizabeth, NJ in 1943. She then moved to New Brunswick, NJ, as her husband went in the US Army 1944 - 1946. She worked as a seamstress at a family owned garment factory; RCA and retired after 22 years from Johnson & Johnson. She received a number of awards from Johnson & Johnson for her product improvement ideas. Josephine belonged to St. Matthew the Apostle church and was very active in her church and Rosary Society. She also volunteered at JFK Hartwyck Nursing home from 1991 until the time of her passing and was a member of the J&J Retirees, Stelton Bowling Club and the Lindeneau Senior Citizen Club for over 25 years. Predeceased in death by her parents Cosimo and Rose Cosimano, her husband, Nicholas Miragliotta in 1985 and her daughter, Carmela Agugliaro in 2007, her sisters, Sarah Caroch, Lillie Zangara, Ida Mangarella, and her brother Vito Cosimano. She is survived by her 3 children, son, Anthony of San Diego, CA, daughter, Rose Marie Zirkle and husband Neal of Nashville TN, and son, Nicholas of Edison, NJ. As well as her sister, Marion Sansone of San Antonio TX, son-in-law John Agugliaro of No. Brunswick NJ, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way, along with many nieces and nephews. Josephine was such a joy and inspiration to all with an intense focus on family and her faith. Josephine will be greatly missed. The family requests donations to the American Cancer Society in memory of Josephine Miragliotta in lieu of flowers. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 8:30 AM at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Ave., Edison, NJ followed by an 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Matthew the Apostle church, 81 Seymour Ave., Edison, NJ. Viewings will be Monday, January 25, 2016, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow the Service at Resurrection Cemetery, 551 Hoes Lane, Piscataway, NJ.
