Obituary of Patricia O'Grady

Patricia E O'Grady of Sayreville, passed away suddenly on January 17, 2016 at RWJUH in New Brunswick. She was born in Bayonne, NJ on December 6, 1948. She graduated from Jersey City College with a Teaching Degree. After her son Tim was born, Pattie worked as a waitress at IHOP for many years to support her son. She returned to her love of teaching when Tim was in high school. Pattie began teaching at Martin Luther King Elementary School in 1988. Pattie spent 25 years teaching first grade and was extremely dedicated to her students. Early into her tenure she was named Teacher of the Year. Pattie retired in June, 2011. Pattie met the love of her life Brian 30 years ago through mutual friends. They were married on September 25, 1999 on a boat in Lake George. They had many happy years together enjoying family and friends, especially at their Brant Lake vacation home. Pattie became a grandmother 9 months ago for the first time. Her love for her granddaughter was immeasurable. Her loving spirit and kind heart will be missed greatly. Patricia was predeceased by her parents Robert and Winifred Clougher. She is survived by her husband Brian O'Grady; her son Timothy R. and his wife Christine C. O'Grady; her brothers John, Michael and Robert Clougher and granddaughter McKenna, as well her niece Jennifer and nephews Robert, Michael and Sean. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 4-8 PM at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison. A Funeral mass is scheduled for 11:00 am on Thursday at Our Lady Of Victories RC Church in Sayreville, family and friends can meet at 10:00 am at the funeral home before mass. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Pattie's favorite charity, at PO Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis TN 38101-9908
