Janet Evon Burns, age 79, of Honesdale, PA died Sunday, December 27, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at home. Born October 17, 1936, in Somerville, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Isaac B. and Jeanette (Davis) Stryker. She was a graduate of Princeton High School. Prior to her retirement, she had been a mail clerk at Post Offices in Somerset and Franklin Park, NJ. She had been a member of Six Mile Run Reformed Presbyterian Church in Franklin Park, NJ. Janet lived most of her life in North Brunswick. She had been a Cherry Ridge resident for 8 years. In addition to gardening and feeding her birds, she loved to watch sports, especially NASCAR, football, basketball, golf and the Olympics. She is survived by one daughter: Lisa Katz and her husband Kevin of Hawley; three sons: Mark Burns and his wife Melodie of Wellsville, OH, Barry Burns and his late wife Cathy of Freehold, NJ, and Jeffrey Burns of Hawley; and her beautiful grandchildren: Matthew David and Sara Grace. She was preceded in death by a son, David Alan Burns, and a sister, Lucie A. Lombardo. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 4th, 2016 at Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue, New Brunswick from 5-8PM.
