Obituary of Paul McKaig

Paul G. McKaig, age 88, of Edison, passed away peacefully in his home on November 24, 2015. Born on February 8, 1927 in Jersey City, he was the son of the late Charles & Anna McKaig. Paul served his country in the US Army during WWII where he met his beloved wife-to-be, Hildegard. He worked as a millwright at Squibb up until his retirement and was a long time member of St. Matthew the Apostle RC Church in Edison. Paul will be remembered as a loyal husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed camping, skiing, and watching football, especially the Giants. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Patrick McKaig and his wife Irene of Edison, Paul John McKaig and his wife Dyan of Sumerville, OR, Colleen Haring and her husband George of Pen Argyl, PA, and daughter-in-law Roxanna McKaig of LaGrande, OR; grandchildren, Lisa, Christopher, Daniel, Joe, Kristin, PJ, Kelly, Jason, and a gaggle of great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased in death by his wife of 56 years, Hildegard Wycisk McKaig, his son Harry McKaig and his granddaughter Jennifer. The McKaig Family will welcome friends for visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew the Apostle RC Church, 81 Seymour Ave., on Friday December 4, at 9:30 a.m.
