Beverly J. Strachan, 90, of Edison, passed away Tuesday October 13th, 2015 at JFK Haven Hospice, Edison. Born on Staten Island, he moved to Edison in 1960. Beverly served his country in the United States Navy, stationed in Florida. Before retiring he was a driver for Weissglass Dairy in Staten Island, and later retired from the Edison Board of Education. He was a member of both the Bonhamtown and Guardian Angels Senior Citizens and was an avid Bingo player. Beverly loved to travel, especially taking trips to Ireland. Beverly was predeceased by his wife Marion in 2005; parents, John and Elizabeth Strachan; one brother and 5 sisters. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Christine Thomas of Edison, Eileen Smail and David of Hoosick Falls, NY, Susan Power and John of Kilmacthomas, Ireland, Karin Sica and Pat of Edison, John Strachan, James Strachan and Debbie, and Eric Strachan and Laura, all of Edison; along with 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. Family and friends are invited to the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Ave. Edison, on Friday, October 16th, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9PM with a service during the evening hours. Cremation will be private.
