Obituary of Han Lee "Joseph"

Han Kun Lee, of North Brunswick, NJ, died suddenly of a presumed cardiac arrest on September 5, 2015. He was surrounded by his immediate family. He was 73. He was a loving father, compassionate husband, and ceaseless worker. Born in Shanghai, China in 1942, he was a true South Korean patriot and an American citizen. As a teenager at the prestigious Seoul High School, he won accolades as a swimmer, skier, and mountain climber. After completing his undergraduate education in Seoul National University (Political Science) in 1964, he worked briefly in the oil industry. He married his wife, Kee Soon Chun (Caecilia) in 1968 in Seoul. After careful consideration, he made the decision to immigrate to the United States to study in 1969. He completed two Master's degrees (computer science, business administration) at Baruch College, CUNY. His wife joined him in the United States, and together they raised three children in their home in North Brunswick, New Jersey. They remained at that residence for forty years until his death. Han Kun Lee worked continuously and tirelessly while in America - first for Bell Telephone (later NYNEX) and then later for IBM Consulting Group as a computer systems architect. He spent his weekends personally rehabilitating and managing his rental properties, an activity which he enjoyed. Having been a child through the devastation of the Korean War, he would have been proud to say he worked productively until the day of his death. He is survived by his wife, Kee Soon Chun (Caecilia), and his three sons (John Y.K. Lee, MD; Edward S. Lee, MD; and Mark T. Lee) and his five grandchildren (Jillian Lee, Ian Lee, Emma Lee, Claire Lee, and Katie Lee). He has two surviving siblings (Han Heung Lee, MD and Han Pae Lee). His younger sibling Han Wook Lee predeceased him. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10AM Thursday September 10th at Guardian Angels R.C. Church in Edison with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Boylan Funeral Home 10 Wooding Ave. Edison, NJ from 7 pm to 9 pm on Wednesday September 9th.
