Obituary of Dominic Bonanno

Dominic J. Bonanno, 90, of Edison, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015, at JFK Haven Hospice in Edison. Born in Barnesboro, PA, Dominic was a resident of Edison for most of his life. Mr. Bonanno served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. He was the owner of Nixon Service Center in Edison from October 1953 until selling the business in January 2015. He was a communicant at St. Matthew's R.C. Church. Mr. Bonanno was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Bonanno and sister, Veta Mazzio. Surviving are his beloved wife of 64 years, Rita Bonanno of Edison; his sons and daughters in-law, John Bonanno and JoAnn of Edison and Dominic Bonanno and Donna of Hamilton; his grandchildren and their spouses, John Bonanno, Jr. and Cyndi, Brian Bonanno and Jaci, Christine Bonanno-Varga and Todd Varga, and Dominic N. Bonanno; great-granddaughter, Lindsey; five sisters, Sara, Marie, Jeanette, Frances and JoAnn and her husband Ray; as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison; followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Edison. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
