Mary Patricia "Pat" Flannery, 81, of Edison, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015, at home. Born in Long Branch, NJ, she was raised in Ocean Grove, and resided most of her life in Edison. Mrs. Flannery attended Mount Saint Mary's Academy in Watchung where she converted to Catholicism and remained a very devout Catholic. Mrs. Flannery was a Secretary at Middlesex County College prior to retiring. She was an active member of AARP, the Edison Senior Citizens, and was a parishioner at Guardian Angels R.C. Church in Edison. She loved to travel, attend plays, and spend time with her large family and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph M. Flannery, in 1997 and her son, Sean Flannery, in 1985. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Carolyn Murphy and Glenn of South Carolina, Joseph Flannery and Mary Ann of Edison, Teresa Gagne and Ronald of Rhode Island, Mary Jo Flannery of Edison, and Roberta Guarino and Jaques of Columbus; her grandchildren and their spouses Craig Mattie and Linda, Bernadette Murphy-Blanck and Kristin, Jaclyn Arold and Christopher, Ryan Gagne, Sean Gagne and Jillian, Danielle Guarino, and Teresa Guarino; great-grandchildren Simon and Veronica Mattie and Siena Murphy-Blanck; as well as special family friend Beth Nartowicz. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17, at 10:00 a.m. at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison; followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at Guardian Angels R.C. Church in Edison. Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 16, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
