Marion Hanna

Obituary of Marion Hanna

Marion E. Hanna (née Evon,) 91, of Highland Park, entered into God's care on May 19 at The Francis E. Parker Memorial Home nursing facility in New Brunswick. Marion was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and lived most of her adult life in Highland Park. Marion was a wife and homemaker, and worked at Revlon Cosmetics in Edison when her children were grown. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church (now Transfiguration of the Lord Parish at St. Paul Church) and the Highland Park Seniors' Club. Marion loved to travel. She and her husband spent many happy years visiting their children, grandchildren, and extended family in Vermont, Connecticut, and North Carolina. Marion also loved the excitement of the casino atmosphere and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Foxwoods where she found the casual fun of slot machines very energizing. Her creativity was expressed with crafts, making beautiful crocheted gifts for her children, grandchildren and friends. At family weddings and special occasions, Marion and her husband were avid dancers. Most of all Marion loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. A favorite family story is how she and her husband embarked on a wedding anniversary trip and returned home to collect their children because they decided a family trip was what they really wanted most of all. Marion was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty-four years, Robert M. Hanna, and her daughter, Barbara Forguites. She is survived by her son-in-law Robert Forguites; son Robert Hanna and wife, Lucy; son William Hanna; and daughter Linda Cosky and husband, Steve. Her cherished grandchildren include Adam Forguites; Christopher Hanna and fiancée, Amanda Bjornson; Ashley Pisciotta and husband, Chris; Steven Cosky and wife, Patricia; Troy Cosky; step-grandddaughter Christen Paras; and great-grandchild Morgan Pisciotta. She has many cherished and remembered relatives in Connecticut and Vermont. Private family services will be held in New Jersey and Connecticut.
