Robert C Kooken, 82, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015, at JFK Memorial Hospital in Edison. Born in Spelter, West Virginia, Robert grew up in Essex County, NJ before moving to Edison in 1961. Robert was a Veteran of the US Army serving in Korea. He was a Warehouse Manager for AR Meeker for 30 years, he was also a custodian at JP Stevens for 10 years and a food demonstrator for Costco in Edison for 4 years. Robert was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Edison; He enjoyed traveling and playing cards. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Nancy Kooken and nine siblings. Robert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma Stephens Kooken; his son, Bob and his daughter, Susan Kooken and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11 at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison. Family and friends may visit from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the Funeral Home.
