Rita DeLuca, 99, died on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at the JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Manhattan, NY she was a longtime resident of Edison. A communicant of St. Matthews R.C. Church, she was also a member of the Rosary Altar Society, the Legions of Mary, the Edison Seniors and she was a Red Hat. Famous for her cheesecake and her abilities as a seamstress, she will be remembered as "everyone's friend". Rita was predeceased by her loving husband, Frank DeLuca, in 1982. She is survived by her son, Ronald and his wife Ruth of Edison; her grandchildren Laurel and husband Chris, Alex and wife Michelle, and Sondra; great-granddaughter Adria and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will take place 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison; followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Funeral Home on Friday, April 17, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m.
