Joan B. Dalton of Edison passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at JFK Haven Hospice in Edison. Born in Staten Island, NY, she was a resident of Edison most of her life. Mrs. Dalton was employed with the Edison Township Health Department as Local Registrar for over 40 years before retiring. She had served as Edison Township Democratic Committeewoman. She was devoted to her family and friends and will be long remembered for being "a tough cookie with a heart of gold". Mrs. Dalton was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas F. Dalton, in 2008. Surviving are her sons, Thomas and Kevin Dalton both of Edison and daughter, Nora Dalton Litzelman of New Hampshire; loving Nan to 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 20, at 9:00 a.m. at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Edison. Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 19, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
