Obituary of Frank Rice

Frank A. Rice, 64, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle, at VA NJ Health Care Systems-Lyons in Bernards Township. Born in New Brunswick, on September 19, 1950, Frank was a lifelong resident of Edison. He graduated from Edison H.S. in '68. Frank served in the U.S. Army in the Republic of Vietnam (1968-1971) with the 101st AB Division and was the holder of numerous Military Awards and Commendations. Frank was the owner of Edison Trenching Co., He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion, Disabled Veterans Association and Vietnam Veterans Association. He was an avid antique collector and Harley Davidson enthusiast. Frank was predeceased by his mother, Elsie Rice Kapler. Frank is survived by his father, Frank M. Rice; his sister, Barbara; brother, James and sister, LaVern; plus many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at Guardian Angels Church in Edison; interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Family and friends may visit from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in Frank A Rice's name to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati OH 45250-0301.
