Obituary of James Quirk

James P. Quirk, 64, of North Brunswick, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Elizabeth, he was raised in New Brunswick and resided in North Brunswick for the past 30 years. Mr. Quirk was a Sergeant with the New Brunswick Police Department before retiring 14 years ago. He was also a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 294 in Milltown. Mr. Quirk was predeceased by his parents, James and Kay Quirk. Surviving are his loving wife of 24 years, Jeanne Quirk (née Guyette,)of North Brunswick; his daughter and son in-law Samantha and Tim Tobias of Winfield Park; and his son Jimmy Quirk of North Brunswick. He is also survived by his other children Jackie Halliday and Tony Rivera; his grandson Chace Tobias; his sister Kathy Hawryluk; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 5, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue in New Brunswick. A Mass will take place Friday, March 6, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church in North Brunswick. Friends and relatives will meet directly at church on Friday. Cremation will be private.
