Alden B. "Swede" Carlson, of Belle Mead, passed away at Princeton University Hospital on Sunday evening January 25, 2015. He leaves behind his wife Gerd; 2 sons, Eric and his wife Lynn and Jeffrey and his wife Lori; their children, Gunnar and Claudia; also Gerd's children, David Mason and his wife Susan, James Mason and his wife Jackie, Mark Mason and his wife Sharon, Lisa Olexsa and her husband Paul; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alden was a Navy Flyer, taking his last flight in 1945 before he received an Honorable Discharge. He became a chemical engineer and chemical salesman for DuPont Co. before retiring after 37 years. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4th Street and Fords Avenue in Fords, NJ. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the church or your favorite charity. Arrangements are under the direction of Boylan Funeral Home in Edison.
