Obituary of Jean Mellios

Jean N. Mellios (née Zaharoula,) 89, of Edison, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014, at home. She was born in Kimi Evia, Greece on May 25, 1925 to the late Stamati and Zoie Karamanos, and came to the United States in 1947. Mrs. Mellios was employed by Revlon for over 20 years. She was a resident of Edison for 65 years and was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Highland Park and Piscataway for over 60 years. She was a devoted wife, and a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas P. Mellios in 2002. Surviving are her two sons, Peter N. Mellios of Edison and Taxiarhe N. Mellios of Spotswood; her daughter, Toula N. Rosebrock of Forked River; four grandchildren, Zoie N. Mellios, Nicholas P. Mellios, Troy N. Mellios, and Ashley N. Mellios; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler G. Richings and Abrielle Mellios. A funeral mass will be held Monday, December 29, at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway. Interment will follow at Clover Leaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge. Arrangements are under the direction of Boylan Funeral Home in New Brunswick.
