Obituary of Chester Konopacki

Chester Konopacki, 94, died Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at the Edison Estates Care Center. Born in South River, Chester was a longtime resident of Edison. Prior to his retirement Chester was employed as a pipefitter/machinist with Johnson & Johnson and Ethicon. He also proudly served his country with the United States Navy during World War II. Chester was an avid builder and driver of racecars known throughout the central NJ racing circuit (Old Bridge, Wall Township, Flemington) as the driver of #36 and #6. Chester was predeceased by his loving wife, Elizabeth; and his parents, Witold and Malsina Konopacki. He is survived by his son, Alan Konopacki and wife Jil of Edison; his daughter, Diana Piriygi of CA and daughter, Joyce Konopacki of Edison. A funeral service will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison. Family and friends may pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Chester's name to the Edison Senior Citizens Center 2963 Woodbridge Ave. Edison, NJ 08837.
