Obituary of William Cronin

William A. Cronin, 69, of Edison, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014, at home after a battle with Cancer. Born in Woodside, NY, William he later moved to Edison, NJ. Mr. Cronin served in the United States Army during Vietnam as an MP, stationed at West Point, before being honorably discharged. William was a Steamfitter and was a 44 year member of the Steamfitters Local 638 in New York; He was also an active 4th degree member of the Edison Knights of Columbus Post 4885, active member of the Friendly Sons of The Shillelagh in Old Bridge, and was a Communicant of Guardian Angels R.C. Church in Edison. Mr. Cronin was predeceased by his son William Andrew Cronin in April 1985. Surviving are his beloved wife of 35 years, Joan (nee Connolly) of Edison; his loving daughter, Kelly Ann Cronin of Edison; three cousins: Jacqueline DiMarco, Carol O'Neill, and Sandy O'Neill; as well as his 13 wonderful nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 18 at 10 am at Transfiguration of the Lord Parish Church of the Guardian Angels in Edison. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 16 and Wednesday, December 17, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. both days, at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Michelle O'Neill Foundation at monfoundation.org.
