Obituary of Donald Gladman

Donald G. Gladman, 81, of Edison, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014, at JFK Hartwyck at Cedar Brook in Plainfield. Born in Bronx, NY he was a resident of Edison most of his life. Mr. Gladman served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1952-1956. He was a member of the American Legion Father and Son Post in Edison. He was a Private Chauffeur to Joseph Roebling and later was employed by Manhattan Savings Bank as a Clerk and Chauffeur until his retirement. Donald was an avid golfer and bowler, serving on leagues in New York and New Jersey. He loved the New York Giants and Yankees. His travels from Wyoming to Europe and Africa gave him the opportunity to pursue his hobby of photography. Copies of his work were displayed in the travel widow of the bank. Surviving are his beloved wife of 51 years Nancy (Schiaffo) Gladman of Edison; his son Douglas Gladman of Edison; his sister Dorothy Wheeler and her husband John of Arizona; and his nieces Ellen and Susan of California. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 25, at 10:00 a.m. at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison; followed by interment at St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 24, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to JFK Haven Hospice, 65 James Street, Edison, NJ 08818.
