Obituary of Ronald Nicholas Belick

Ronald Nicholas Belick, 83, of Plainsboro, passed away on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023, at The Elms of Cranbury surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born and raised in New Brunswick and lived in Somerset for twenty years before moving to Plainsboro. He had a thirty-five year career at New Jersey Aluminum where he took great pride in attending Rutgers University to rise from a line worker to Plant Manager. He became the proprietor of Marquis Limousine Service before retiring in 2010. He had many talents and interests ranging from carpentry to the collection of antiques, stamps, and coins. His love of trains kept him busy for months as he created a Christmas village for his family to enjoy each year. He had a love for cars of all types, and enjoyed boating, fishing and everything the Jersey Shore had to offer. Sports were also a big part of his life. He played basketball at New Brunswick High School, and he spent many years as a basketball coach for Boys' Team at St. Peter's Grammar School in the 70's. He was an avid and loyal fan of The Yankees, Giants, Rangers and Knicks. But nothing could match the passion he had for his beloved Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Whether it was a home or away game chances are you could find him at a basketball or football game. Ron was a wonderful father and "G-Pop" to his grand and great grandchildren. Whether it be a sporting, music or scholastic event, if one of his children or grandchildren was participating, no matter how near or far, he would surely be there supporting them while beaming with pride. He was a kind man who connected and left an impression with many people of all ages. Those who knew Ron knew him to be young-hearted and someone who didn't sit around or let the grass grow under his feet. In fact, you never knew where or when he might just show up. Many jokingly referred to him as “The World's Oldest Teenager”. Despite moving to Plainsboro, New Brunswick was always in his heart, and he would spend a great amount of time in the area. He enjoyed being around people, and sharing stories from the past. Ron was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Yetsko Belick of forty-five years; and his parents, Nikola and Catherine Belick LaRosa. He is survived by his children, Ronald S. Belick, Darren Belick, and Denise Doherty and her husband Edward of Plainsboro; along with his grandchildren, Krista Buckheit and her husband Bobby, Chad Belick, Douglas Doherty, Scott Doherty and Andrew Doherty and great grandchildren, Bryce and Alexis Buckheit.
