Mikulas "Nick" Beno, 76, of Edison, passed away on Wednesday March 1, 2023 at home. Nick was born in Czechoslovakia to the late Mikulas and Anna Beno and proudly served in the military. He later moved to New York City and found work as a porter for over thirty years. He was friendly with everyone and loved connecting with people even if that meant learning a new language. Nick would keep himself busy by traveling until he met and married Teresa. He would soon be busy raising two daughters and moving to Edison, New Jersey. Nick loved to take them into the city to show and tell them about everything. He was full of adventure and eventually would share that great sense of adventure with his beloved (and happily spoiled) grandchildren. Nick loved tending to the yard and gardening vegetables to share with others. He loved to be out in nature and enjoying the animals as he could often be found feeding the backyard birds or ducks and geese at the nearby lake. He is even known to have helped lost dogs get back to their owners. He was always moving, working with his hands and helping neighbors. Of course, when tennis or soccer was on, you could find him (and eventually yourself) shouting at the TV. He was always eager to tell you a story, or dance, or sing and sometimes, if you were lucky, a combination of all three. Nick lived life to the fullest and with the fullest heart a person could have. He will be greatly missed. Mikulas is survived by his wife, Teresa Beno; daughters, Diana Beno and Barbara Beno; along with six grandchildren.
