Obituary of Anthony F. Puglisi Jr.

Anthony “Skip” Puglisi Jr., 84, of New Brunswick, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Spring Hills at Somerset. Skip was a long time resident of New Brunswick, moving to North Brunswick twenty years ago. Skip graduated from St. Peter’s High School in 1956 and served four years in the Army Reserves. He retired in 1999 from a forty year career with the New Brunswick Police Department with the rank of Captain. Skip was a lifelong communicant of St. Peter’s Church, a life member of the BPO Elk Lodge 324 and a member of the New Brunswick PBA Local #25. Skip was also an avid sports fan and loved the NY Giants and NY Yankees. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time at the shore, especially Point Pleasant Beach. Skip was predeceased by his parents, Anthony Sr. and Helen Puglisi and his brother, John T. Puglisi. He is survived by his sister, Joan Shea; niece, Kerry Stevenson and her husband Christopher; great nieces, Katherine and Madeline; his lifelong friend, Ed Devine and his dear friends, John Reilly, Cindy and Paul and Chelsea Dawson. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue, New Brunswick. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 12th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Church, New Brunswick. Cremation is private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Skip’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
