Dorothy Colombo, 79, of Edison passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born in Newark and has resided in Edison for the last 48 years. She was a clerical worker with Rutgers University and Revlon. Dorothy was a dedicated parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Church in Edison and a devoted member of the “Red Hats”. She spent her leisure time attending the Edison Senior Center and loved her Monday Bingo club. Dorothy loved spending time with her family and friends, especially going out for dinner no matter the venue and if the restaurant had dancing, she was always out on the dance floor first. Above all, Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother who cared deeply for her family and her two granddogs, Blanche and Shea. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, John and Viola Anstiss. She is survived by her loving husband, Rocco Colombo; daughter, Donna Smith; son, Rocco Colombo; and her brothers, John and Anthony Anstiss. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, Edison. Inurnment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s memory can be made to the Dementia Society of America.
