Richard J. Bornheimer, 76, of North Brunswick, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. A proud Marine Corps veteran, Richard served his country during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he dedicated his career to the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local 9, before retiring. Richard was predeceased by his mother, Mary Kenyon Bornheimer. He leaves behind a loving family, including his children: Jennifer Lawler (Dan Lawler, Command Sergeant Major-Retired), Dawn Bornheimer (Captain Chuck Banks), and Rich Bornheimer (Bridget Harrigan); siblings, Bill Bornheimer, Nancy Borromeo, Marie Diamond, and Donald Bornheimer, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Dylan, Justin, Sean, and Kingston. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 9:30 am at St. Peter the Apostle Church, located at 94 Somerset St., New Brunswick, NJ 08901. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you take time to travel, explore new cities and countries, embrace the love of family & friends, and give an extra hug to your loved ones when you see them.
