Obituary of John Franceschino

John Franceschino, of Princeton, passed away suddenly on January 11, 2024. He was born and raised in New Brunswick and attended St. Ladislaus, St Peter’s, and New Brunswick Vocational Tech Schools. He worked for the New Brunswick Fire Department for twenty-five years, retiring in 2011. It was there that he lovingly received the nickname "Johnny Fresh". He most recently worked for the West Windsor-Plainsboro School District as a security officer. John enjoyed working out and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time on LBI, walking the beaches year round and soaking up the sun in the summer. He is predeceased by his parents, John and Josephine Franceschino; and his sister, Adele. He is survived by his “one and only”, Rosemarie Scianna of Princeton; his sister, Gloria Topping and her husband Joe of Tuckerton; his nephew, Patrick Topping and his wife Rachel and their two children, Lincoln and Margot; his nieces, Christine Otten and husband Chris, and Theresa Topping; cousins, Lolita, Fortunato, Peter, Charlie, Diane, Andrew, Tony, Mary, Louise; as well as the Burns, Horr, and Walker families; and by many, many friends. Visitation will be held at the Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue, New Brunswick on January 22, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.. A Mass will follow at St Peter’s Church, 94 Somerset Street, New Brunswick at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at St Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St Jude Children’s Hospital, or St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center.
