Belinda Rocke

Obituary of Belinda Jane Rocke

Belinda Jane Rocke - a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend - has passed away at the age of 52 on Friday, January 12, 2024. It was only after a long and hard fight with breast cancer that Belinda took her last breath surrounded by her loving husband and children. Belinda was born in Denver, Colorado and adopted together with her sisters Michelle and Laura by her parents Louise and Harrison McDonald. She was raised in Bloomfield, NJ by her adoptive parents. She has two brothers - Joe and Peter McDonald - and four sisters - Cindi Angel, Angela Yoshida, Michelle McDonald, and Laura Poole. Belinda met John Rocke in June of 1993 and fell in love. Belinda and John moved to Highland Park, NJ to raise her three children - Vincent, Justin, and Amber Caputo. They were married in Las Vegas on August 20, 2005 with her sister Michelle by her side. She worked for the Highland Park High School as a paraprofessional, with children who loved her and remember her to this day. She retired in 2008 and was home to create many wonderful memories with her husband, children, and eventually her grandchildren whom she cherished with all her heart. Belinda and John loved spending time together. They would travel together to Atlantic City for weekend getaways, loved traveling to art and craft fairs, and going to concerts together. If you had the pleasure of knowing Belinda, you knew that this 80’s girl loved Phil Collins and Bryan Adams! Belinda’s eldest son Vincent made her a grandmother in 2017. He gave her three grandchildren - Giovanna, Vinnie, and Aletheia Caputo - who she and John both adored and enjoyed visiting in Atlantic City. Belinda’s mother Louise passed away from cancer in 2018. Belinda is survived by her father, siblings, husband, children, and grandchildren. Not long after watching her mother battle cancer, she was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer in 2021. She fought a good fight and would always say she wasn’t just fighting for her own life, but for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her family was her everything and she would give anything to ensure their happiness. Unfortunately, once the cancer metastasized, her health declined rapidly. Surrounded by her loving family, she passed away at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick that Friday evening. Family and friends are invited to gather together on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11AM for a Memorial Celebration at SCULLVILLE BIBLE CHURCH ~ 1546 Somers Point-Mays Landing Rd, Egg Harbor Township NJ 08234 followed by a Celebration of Life at the Elks Lodge ~ 1815 Mays Landing-Somers Point Road, Egg Harbor Township NJ 08234. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society in her memory would be appreciated.
