Philip Dimaio

Obituary of Philip M. Dimaio

Philip M. DiMaio, 62 years old, passed away at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. He was life lifelong resident of New Brunswick before moving to Brick. He lived in Brick for 19 years. He will always be remembered as kind, sweet, and smiling wherever he went. Philip worked in the City of New Brunswick and Revlon. He was a part of community outreach for ASL Interpreter Referral Service, Inc. as an exhibitor. He proudly graduated from New Jersey School for the Deaf and has been active for many years in Deaf Clubs such as Diverse Deaf Club of NJ, Ocean Deaf Club, and Deafblind League of NJ. He was a great support to the organizations especially selling raffle tickets. He also went to college in Tennessee for one year but came home because he felt the call to take care of his sister, Brenda Joy because of her special needs. He did it with love and joy. His favorite organization was the NJSD/MKSD Historical Society and NJSD/MKSD Alumni Association. He enjoyed, every Wednesday, going to the school to keep the museum alive and well. He was the Treasurer of the organization. He will be remembered for finding historical photographs not only for the organization but for the family also. He also will be remembered for giving deaf or deaf-blind individuals, who needed, rides to places. The deaf community was his life and his family. He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Jean Ellen Perkins DiMaio; father, Anthony DiMaio; and sister, Brenda Joy DiMaio. Surviving are his long-time friend, Douglas McMillan; aunt, Christine Sherwood; cousins, Kathy Kady-Hopkins, Kim Asack, Lynda Yetnikoff, Karen Ann Capone, Elizabeth Doucas, Suzanne Goggin, Debbie DiMaio, Joey DiMaio, Lisa DiMaio; and extended family. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Gathering on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ. Cremation was private.
