Lane A. Benson, 81, of Edison, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He served his country in the United States Army and was a Fireman at Station 5 in Edison. In his free time Lane enjoyed listening to the oldies, going to the beach, attending concerts, traveling with his wife, going to watch Rutgers Women’s Basketball, viewing the Cherry Blossoms bloom in Newark and eating hot dogs from Rutt’s Hut and Dickie Dees. Lane was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Evelyn Benson. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Benson; daughter, Cheryl Benson; son, Lane R. Benson; daughter-in-law, Nicole Benson; and his grandson, Tyler Benson. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
