Linda Starr Merriam-Kuc of Hillsborough, NJ, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 18, 2021 at the age of 69. A viewing will be held at East Millstone United Methodist Church on June 23, 2021, from 2-4 pm followed by a service. Immediately after the service, a reception will be held. Linda was born in New Haven, Connecticut to Charles Neale and Dorothy Ann Merriam on May 18, 1952. She attended Bridgewater Raritan High School East Class of 1970 in Bridgewater, NJ. She attended Gettysburg College and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Music Education in 1974. Linda was employed by the Branchburg Township School system where she taught primary music for 37 years. Because of the love for her students, she handcrafted mini pianos as rewards that are treasured by her former students. Throughout her life she received many awards as a vocalist. Linda was a soloist, pianist, and Treasurer at the East Millstone United Methodist Church. She also sang with the Raritan Valley Chorus. Linda was the hospitality coordinator and recently the Vice President of the Hillsborough Senior Citizen Group A. Linda and her husband adopted many rescue dogs over the years which they cherished together. Linda is survived by her husband, Larry Kuc of Hillsborough, NJ; her mother, Dorothy A. Merriam of Waretown, NJ; her sisters, Susan Merriam Grubb (Bill) of Camphill, PA, and Donna Merriam Prostak (Philip) of Hunterdon County, NJ; sisters-in-law, Kathy Maloney (Kevin) of New Brunswick, NJ, Mary Klinger (Ken) of New Brunswick, NJ; and brother-in-law Bill Kuc (Mary) of Webster Grove, MI. Linda has 11 nieces and nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Neale Merriam and brother, James Neale Merriam.
