Mary Ann Veisz (Sabol), 72, passed away into the arms of the Lord Friday, June 11, 2021, at her home in Edison, New Jersey. Mary was a spirited woman who knew what she wanted. When Mary knew her battle with cancer was nearing the end, what she wanted most was to be home, surrounded by her dedicated husband and loving children. The smile on her face during her last few weeks of life is one her children will cherish forever. Mary was originally from Union City, New Jersey. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Monmouth University and then served time in the United States Army. After living in various states, she returned once again to New Jersey, this time to Edison. Mary was the Plant Manager for Therma Tray when she first met her husband, Joseph Veisz. The couple married on Elvis Presley's birthday, January 8, 1983. Their 38 years of marriage were spent living in Joseph's childhood home. Everyone who knew Mary will recall her as "one tough cookie" and "larger than life". She will be remembered for her generosity. Her son will forever remember her for her intelligence. She was an avid reader and was not often seen without her Kindle. She loved animals and believed a home was never complete without various dogs and cats. She had a green thumb and loved gardening. She took care of the decorative plants while Joseph tended to their annual vegetable garden, for which he will continue the legacy. Finally, the lake was her happy place, where she could spend hours watching the water sipping on Merlot. Mary was a member of the Italian American Club in Edison, New Jersey. She was also an advocate and served as president for "Grannies for Grass International". Mary is survived by her husband, Joseph Veisz; son, Michael Veisz and his girlfriend, Tracie (Mary's faithful friend and "second daughter"; daughter, Helena (Leanie Ree) Connaughton and her husband, Brian (Shruggzy); along with her grandchildren, Tyler (her Rock Star), Jake, Declan, Kieran and Kayleigh. Mary was predeceased by her brother, Robert; and her parents, Lanka (Lee), and Michael Sabol. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Cloverleaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge.
