Obituary of Robert Muth

Robert J. "Bob" Muth passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Friday evening January 24, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick after a brief illness, Robert was 70. Known as Bob to all his friends, he had a gregarious personality. Outgoing and friendly he would always have a kind word of support or advice for all who needed it. He was born on Good Friday in New Brunswick to Adolph Muth and the former Anna Newman and lived in Edison for most of his life. Bob graduated from New Brunswick Vo-Tech and was an accomplished craftsman. Skilled in multiple trades, he could fix almost anything. Bob was a chemical operator for Rhodia Specialty Chemicals for 37 years and a member of the fire and safety brigades. He retired to his dream home he built with his wife 13 years ago in Westfield, PA. Bob had a strong devotion to his heavenly Father and was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Mission Church in Westfield, PA. A devoted husband and father, he was married to his childhood sweetheart Christine Isbitski for 51 years. Robert and Christine raised four beautiful daughters: Sherri Muth of Edison, Lisa Halivopoulos of Monroe Twp., Robyn Thompson of Monroe Twp. and Christin Mandreucci of Millstone Twp. and had a special relationship with his son-in-laws Ed Thompson, Roberto Mandreucci and George Halivopoulos. He is also survived by his loving sister Delia Lore, his precious grand children Eddie, Robert, Kyle, Justin, Georgie, Giovanni and Stella, cousins and many nieces and nephews who will sadly miss their "Uncle Bob". He is pre-deceased by his parents and brother Adolph "Sonny" Muth. Family and friends are invited to his viewing at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison on Wednesday, January 29, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 30, at Transfiguration of the Lord Parish at Guardian Angels Church, 37 Plainfield Avenue in Edison.
