Michael Karanievski

Obituary of Michael Karanievski

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Dzieda, Michael Karanievski, 5/15/31 - 1/14/21. He passed mid-morning at home in New Brunswick, surrounded by his loved ones. A hardworking and loving patriarch, Michael lived a full and rewarding life with his family. He was born in Belarus, and in his childhood he survived the struggles of forced labor in World War II. As he a young man, he brought his parents to America for a better life, worked as a machinist, and married his wife Helen of 55 years. He retired from his career after 42 years. Through his life he was able to provide for others more than anyone could pay back. He was a proud parishioner of St. Joseph’s RC Church in New Brunswick, as well as the Saint Mary of Zyrovicy Orthodox Church of Highland Park. He will be remembered fondly by his wife, Helen, and his children, Wanda Sutton, Jadwiga “June” Reyes, Karoline D’Angelo, Diane Green, and Michael “Frack” Karanievski, as well as his nephew, Michael Karanevskii and his seven grandchildren. “Smile, the whole world will smile with you!” A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021, 10AM at St. Joseph Church, New Brunswick. Interment will follow at St. Mary of Zyrovicy Cemetery, East Brunswick.
