James Francis McSorley, 78, of Edison passed away Wednesday January 8, 2014, at J.F.K. Haven Hospice in Edison. Born in Newark, he was a resident of Clark, before moving to Edison several years ago. Mr. McSorley served in the United States Air Force. He was employed as a Machinist at General Dynamics for 35 years. He was a communicant at St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Edison. He was an avid reader, and will be remembered for his good sense of humor. Mr. McSorley was predeceased by his wife Helen (née Pascale), his parents James and Catherine, his brother Roger, and his sisters Susan Cruz and Margaret O'Neill. Surviving are his brothers Peter and Patrick McSorley , his sisters Rose Marie McSorley of Kearney, and Theresa and Catherine; his loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins as well as by the extended Pascale Family. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 11 at 9:00 a.m. at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Edison. Visitation will be on Friday, January 10 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield.
