I would like to send my deepest sympathy to the family of my dear high school friend, Patti Dowgin. This news broke my heart. Patti was one of the most loyal, kindest friends I had at SBHS. We reconnected via Facebook and enjoyed sharing that I had 3 daughters and she had 3 sons! We sent each other birthday messages in recent years. My mom passed away 3 years ago, but Patti's mom, Shirley, was a special friend to her and they enjoyed talking about their children at exercise class, talking about "my Patti" and "my Patty." I'm so glad to hear that she became a grandma! I will never forget Patti. Sending love and comforting thoughts and prayers to Shirley and all those handsome sons!
Love from Patty Presser Shoffner

I worked with Patti in the Community Education program for several years and also worked at her beloved Dayton school as her substitute Nurse. Patti became not only my co-worker, but my friend. She was an exceptional Nurse and truly loved her profession.
She lit up every room she walked into. We often spoke about our children and how they were the light in our lives.
RIP my dear Patti...you will be forever in my heart

I will never forget the living angel that gave me strength, hugs, encouragement and laughter to heal my broken heart when my son started kindergarten. I would literally stand at the top of the stairs with tears running down my face, watching my whole world being led to the classroom. Miss Nurse, as we called her, would always come out or call for me to come to the office. Her & Miss Pam always made me feel so much better. I just know she would wait and watch for me on the door camera because she would always be right there, when we came. I truly believe she will be watching over all of us now too...our angel in Heaven. Linda & Noah Lutz

My deepest thoughts/prayers go to Patti’s beautiful family.
I was a kindergarten teacher at the Dayton School for many years. Patti was an extraordinary school nurse, counselor, disciplinarian and of course... friend.
Patti was my first “Good Morning” each day upon entering the school. I can close my eyes and hear her voice.
Amazing things happened in that Nurses Office, everyday! “Send him/her to me”, Mrs. Dowgin would say!
I remember one student, a kindergarten girl, who refused to speak at school. For more than 50 days not a word. Counselor meetings, Parent/Teacher/Administrator meetings. Nothing. “Send her to me”. I did.
She SPOKE IN THE NURSE’S OFFICE!!! But... still not in the classroom
More days passed. Until .... Mrs. Dowgin came into the classroom , it was February... and there she finally spoke in her classroom to Mrs. Dowgin
I have so many memories! My last memory this summer was speaking to Patti as a new Grandma. She was so thrilled to be welcoming Granddaughters. She will surely be an angel to watch over all of you.
My life was made so much richer having spent so many of my days with Patti.
She will live in in my heart forever.

I got to work with Patti at Dayton and she made me laugh every day. We are all blessed to have had Patti in our lives. Patti was a down to earth, tell like it is person and she made every day better just by being herself.
I will truly treasure all the moments I got to spend with her... the lunches with her and Pam, waiting for drop offs in the morning, the pictures, videos and stories of her children and grandchildren, her advice and support....too many memories to count.
I’m so sorry for your loss. May God bless and keep you all until you see her again.

When my daughter started at Dayton, with a G-tube and a nervous mother in tow, Patti was spectacular. She spent lunchtimes with my daughter to make sure she got fed and handled her with confidence, care, and love. My daughter's rocky transition into school could have been a disaster, but it was not, and to a huge degree that was because of Patti. I am so very sorry for your loss. She was funny, strong, and it was obvious that the children at Dayton loved her. I will think of her when having tea parties or making cookies with my daughter and remember her smile.

Patricia was a loving caring school nurse at the Dayton Building of Indian Fields School. The guidance and love she gave to children was also shared with staff, us bigger children, whom she always made time for with a kind word, a funny story, or good advice. Prayers and condolences to the family she adored and loved so much. I have been tucking Patti into my Rosary.

I met Patti when I worked at Dayton School and became close friends. Patti adored her boys and it showed every time she spoke of them, how lucky they are to have Patti as their Mom. I will treasure the times we shared together, and there are many of them, Rest In Peace my dear friend.

I knew Patti through her work in the after school program and at summer camps. She was a dedicated nurse who cared for the children and spoke so fondly of her own boys. Her passing saddens me beyond measure. RIP Patti.

Patti was the beloved long-time nurse at the Dayton campus of Indian Fields. This is where our youngest students come to school. She loved coming each day and working with the staff and little ones at Dayton. She had the bedside manner that was endearing and perfect for our youngest learners. Patti made it her goal to not only help students when they needed her but proactively teach them how to take care of themselves. She has positively impacted the lives of so many students, families, and staff members. Patti leaves a legacy at Dayton that is filled with honesty, love, and compassion.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Patti and I worked together for 18 years, side by side at Dayton School. Patti adored her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews...and all of the new babies in the family! Her treasures were her boys; Vinny, Frankie and Joey....her pride showed each time she spoke about you! "The boys" each married wonderful young women, Patti loved them dearly, and especially how caring and loving they are to her boys. Madeline, Brianna and Alyson, the joy you gave to Patti with visits, phone calls and face time...were treasured. Cooper, Addison, Jesse and Joanna, her precious grand-babies, have Angel Gigi watching over them. When I see a pink rose, M&Ms, a green Volkswagen, or Wawa coffee, I will think of you and the many times we laughed. Until we meet again, Patti XOXO
