Obituary of John Labbancz

John (Johnny) Joseph Labbancz, Jr. passed away at JFK Medical Center on December 22, 2013, after a brief illness, at the age of 67. Born in Perth Amboy, NJ in 1946, he graduated from Edison High School in 1964. John was employed by Edison Township as a Sanitation Engineer for 45 years, retiring in 2008. John enjoyed bingo, bowling, the Senior Citizens on Friday, and riding his trusty bicycle. He was the icon of Morris Avenue. John was an usher at Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church and St. Mary's Margaret Church. John had been a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Hungarian American Democratic Association. He was predeceased by his father, John Joseph Labbancz, Sr. in 1983 and his mother Rosemary (Baunhuber) Labbancz in 2003. John is lovingly remembered by his brother Thomas and Ingi of Havelock, NC, formerly from Fords, NJ and his sister Diane and Bryan Greene, of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Edison, NJ. John is also lovingly remembered by his nephews Mark Labbancz, wife Jill and son Zachary and Michael Haynes, wife Diane and sons Nicholas and Andrew. John will be deeply missed by all. Visitation will be on Thursday January 2, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Boylan Funeral Home 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday January 3, 2013 at 10:30 am at Guardian Angels Church in Edison. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge.
