John V. O'Boyle, 79, of Highland Park, died on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at his home. Born in Plymouth, PA, John lived in Edison before moving to Highland Park 45 years ago. John was employed as a machinist for 40 years, retiring 20 years ago. He was also a communicant at St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Edison, a member of the U.S. Selective Service Board and a member of American Legion Post 243 in South Plainfield, where he served on many charitable committees. John is survived by his loving wife Esther (Prymak) O'Boyle; a daughter Catherine and her husband Nicholas Colletta of Philadelphia, PA; two stepsons, William and Daniel Dower both of Highland Park and many brothers and sisters. Also surviving is his granddaughter Kaitlin Dower. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 19, at 9:30 a.m. from the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison. Burial will follow in the Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 14 Chesterfield Arneytown Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
