Obituary of Nicholas Cockinos

Nicholas John Cockinos, 86, of Edison, died on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in New Brunswick. Born in New York City, he lived there until moving to Edison 46 years ago. Mr. Cockinos was employed as a claims adjuster with Kemper Ins. Co in New York City for over 50 years, retiring in 1993. He was also communicant of St. Matthews R.C. Church in Edison, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1978 in Edison and a member of the Maritime Assn. of the United States. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Vera Cassone Cockinos; three sons, John and his wife Bernice of South Brunswick, Salvatore and his wife Jill of Piscataway and David Cockinos of Vermont; a brother Michael Cockinos of Queens, N.Y. and a sister Mary Lalos of Potomac, M.D. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren Nicholas and Kimberly. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 14th at 9:00 a.m. from the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison, followed by a 9:30 a.m. mass at St. Matthews R.C. Church in Edison. Cremation will be Private. Relatives and Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Tribute Program P.O.
