Obituary of Sharon Marie-Ann Anderson

Sharon Marie-Ann Anderson, age 48, of Monroe Township, NJ, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. Sharon was born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies, and raised in the parishes of Kingston and St. Thomas. Sharon was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception and St. Hugh’s High Schools in Kingston, Jamaica, where she achieved her A and O Level examinations with distinction in several subjects. In 1991, Sharon immigrated to the United States and lived in Matawan, NJ; she received an undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Seton Hall University and a law degree from Rutgers School of Law, Newark, where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Rutgers Race and the Law Review. Sharon practiced law for several years at various law firms and even operated her own legal practice for several years. Sharon is survived by her parents, Grace and Charles Anderson, of Monroe, NJ; her brother and sister-in-law, Kelso and Dimple Anderson, of South Orange, NJ; and her brothers, Shane Anderson of Boca Raton, FL, and Greig Anderson, of Lauderdale Lakes, FL. Sharon was also an aunt and loved her nieces and nephews; she was a strong-willed, smart, woman who was respected and loved by her friends and family. Sharon’s death was sudden and unexpected; she will be sorely missed! Sharon’s funeral arrangements are being handled by Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ, in a private interment.
